Market Validation and Go-to-Market Strategy
My current work for Silicon Biosystems is to help them assess the
U.S. market opportunity for their new DEPArray technology. Before
committing resources to enter the market we are taking steps to fully
understand the barriers to entry and value proposition of their product.
Face-to-face meetings with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and
prospective buyers will test the value proposition of the product and
provide input for what resources will be needed to be successful.
Deliverables to the client include 6 - 10 face to face meetings with
KOLs, a business plan for 1st year of market entry, and 3 year
projection of revenue.
Business Development and Licensing
For my work with TrovaGene the focus has been on establishing
and negotiating licensing agreements for the company's intellectual
property rights around certain genetic markers. Licensing terms
include combinations of upfront fees, milestone fees, and royalties.
As a member of the Board of Directors for PGXL with my background
in marketing and molecular diagnostic I am able to provide business
advice to complement management's expertise in patient care and
clinical and diagnostic testing.
Marketing Basics and Mentoring
The CONNECT Springboard program provides an opportunity for
new companies to gain access to experienced entrepreneurs and
subject matter experts. I volunteer as a Marketing Domain Expert and
provide marketing advice and counsel to select companies in their
program. It provides me visibility to new companies and allows me to
tackle marketing questions across many industries. Companies I
have worked with include 350Green and their electric vehicle
recharging business, Atlas Genetics with molecular point-of-care
diagnostics, and CortiCare a healtcare service provider.

Silicon Biosystems has developed a proprietary platform called
DEPArray, a lab-on-a-chip technology targeted at miniaturized
cell-biology testing. The novel technology can select, manipulate
and collect a single cell from a sample with more than 100,000 cells
on a single microelectronic chip.
TrovaGene, Inc. is a developer of molecular diagnostics products
based on the detection of transrenal genetic markers. These
cell-free nucleic fragments pass through the kidney and are
detectable in the urine. Targeting transrenal markers will allow
genetic testing using simple to obtain urine samples rather than the
more invasive methods or traditional blood testing.
PGXL Laboratories is a CLIA-certified laboratory offering rapid CDA,
MTA, and contract development services specializing in
pharmacogenetic and molecular diagnostic tests.
